It’s bizarre that the only time people are expected to be quiet about gun politics is right after mass slaughter.
There are multiple firearm deaths daily–some weekends produce dozens of deaths, so when does the tasteful moment present itself?
Lobbyists never stop talking with their money.
An al-Qaeda spokesperson was quoted as saying that America is “absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms” before suggesting “You can go down to a gun show and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle, without a background check… so what are you waiting for?”
Mass shootings are themselves statements about the proliferation of firearms.
But then immediately after the fact there’s a nonsense expectation that people not mention how they feel about guns.
However you feel about guns, gun control, gun ownership, whatever, that’s a fucked up standard.
